Why did you enter the Investors in People 2024 Awards?

We entered the Investors in People Awards because we truly believe in the power of our people at C&C Training. Our mission has always been to create an environment where people have a sense of belonging, creating an environment where people feel supported and empowered so that everyone can reach their full potential. Our team is at the heart of everything we do, & we are deeply passionate about building a culture where each person feels valued, motivated, & inspired to do their best.

Our team consistently goes above & beyond to ensure the success of our business, & we believe the IIP Awards provide the perfect platform to highlight their exceptional commitment. At C&C Training, we don’t benchmark ourselves against industry leaders, our focus has always been on our people, who are part of a bigger family. Caring for & investing in our team isn’t something we measure against others, it’s simply who we are. Participating in these prestigious awards allows us to reflect on our own people practices, celebrate the collective effort that drives C&C Training forward, & honour the dedication and commitment of every individual who helps make our organisation thrive.

What has it meant to you, your team, and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2024 Award?

We were absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for the Investors in People Awards. It’s an incredible achievement & a reflection of the dedication, passion, & hard work that our entire team puts in every single day.

To be shortlisted feels especially special because it reinforces something we’ve always believed in, curating a workplace environment where everybody feels safe & valued, we are a family & not just a team. Seeing our people happy and succeeding brings us immense joy & drives us to keep striving for an even better, healthier workplace. It’s proof that their contributions are valued, appreciated & that their development & happiness matter.

We have built a positive, supportive culture that is having a noticeable impact on the lives of our employees. It stands as a reminder that we are all part of something bigger – a team that truly cares about one another. Knowing that our investment in people is being recognised at this level fills us with pride & gratitude.

In the end, being shortlisted is more than just an honour, it’s a celebration of the heart & soul of our organisation. It’s a reminder that when we take care of our people, we build something truly special, where everyone has the chance to flourish.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2024 Award?

Winning the Small Employer of the Year Award would be an incredibly proud & heartfelt achievement for everyone at C&C Training. Since our inception in 2007, starting with just two employees in a small room at the owner’s property, we have undergone a remarkable transformation. We have poured our heart & soul into everything we do, & today, we are a dedicated team of 17, operating from a brand-new facility at one of our centres, with plans to replicate this success at our second centre in the future.

We have implemented new systems to enhance efficiency, allowing our team to manage their work more effectively. We have created new roles & provided opportunities for promotions, all designed to embrace growth. Additionally, we have invested in our line managers through a comprehensive 10-month leadership program to enhance their development.

So, what would it mean for us to win the Investors in People Award? It would signify recognition of the collective effort and support of our entire team that has driven our growth. C&C Training wouldn’t be what it is today without the dedication & commitment of our people. For every individual, including our freelance trainers, this award would inspire a profound sense of pride. Every single person contributes to our success, & this recognition would be a collective victory, affirming that their hard work, passion, & commitment truly make a difference.

Winning this award would embed even greater motivation within our team & serve as a reminder that we are part of something special – an organisation that genuinely cares about the growth and well-being of its people.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engage in awards and events like this one?

Being part of the Investors in People community is incredibly important for us as a small employer. It connects us with a network of like-minded organisations that are equally devoted to nurturing our team’s potential & overall well-being. Participating in awards & events like this one allows us not only to celebrate our own achievements but also to recognise & honour the hard work and dedication of other small businesses within the community.

The awards ceremony provides a unique opportunity for us to come together & share experiences, insights & best practices across various industries. We believe that acknowledging the efforts of our peers creates a spirit of collaboration & inspiration, reminding us that we’re all working toward the common goal of creating better workplaces for our teams.
