Why did you enter the Investors in People 2024 Awards?

We were lucky enough to have been nominated directly by Investors in People for the Employer of the Year 250+ employee category!!

Our vision is to become the window and door fabricator of choice to trade installers, newbuild developers and social housing providers across the UK. To achieve this ambition, it’s imperative that we become the ‘Employer of Choice’ as people are critical to the success of our business and to improving standards overall in the fenestration sector.

By working alongside the acredition, it allows us to have a support network and learn from others experience in how to improve what we have in place, what is working well as how we can continue to develop our practies. We want to be an employer that is atrractive to talent, allows people to grow and to have an openess that demonstrates that we take our people’s work journey seriously and we value their input into the overall business objectives.

Having been nominated is a great and proud moment for all that have been involved so far with our employee journey and is a testament to how HR and people can really make a difference to the winning behaviours within an organisation!

What has it meant to you, your team, and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2024 Award?

To be shortlisted so soon for an award has meant the world to all those invoved in the coordination of the accrediation from members of the HR team, Production colleagues right up to to the Directorate. It has been amazing to be recognised for the work we are doing with our employees across the Group. This is something that has strengthend our message on who we are and what we stand for as well as being able to celebrate everyones contribution! We are all a little overwhelmed to be honest!

What a way to end 2024!

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2024 Award?

It would enhance not only our repuatation within our industry but it also gives that extra motivation to continue and improve on what we are acheiving as a Group and provide something that our colleagues across the Group and potential furture team members can recognise, understand clearly and be very proud of.

Meeting a Standard like Investors in People is external validation of practices that can be used to develop trust in a leadership team or the capability of an organisation. Investors in People provides assurance by being an internationally recognised, academically accepted, and peer-reviewed Standard. To then go beyond that recognition and add an award win in the category of Employer of the Year 250+ employees would further elevate our culture and its importance and get closer to becoming the Employer of Choice.

It would also be an absoute honour to receive as this as it would be a true first for not only our Group businesses but the festration industry to be recognised on a true people and culture level in this way by World Class experts.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engage in awards and events like this one?

With Investors in People, it looks at the whole business and everyone in it which for us is perfect. It helps to offer guidance and support by provding a purposeful framework that we can build true cultural engagement on and best practise. It has given us the starting point to building on foundations and taking this forward to make us brilliant at what we do. We have been able to push forward on a people focused agenda that includes learning, well being and retention strategies safe in the knowledge that we can draw on other likeminded business to help grow and stand out amongst our peers.

By being able to network and learn from others experiences and those at the very top of their game either through networing events, awards evenings and the consultants that give their honest, yet always wonderful insight into what we can do to reach our next milestone, we consider ourselves to be lucky to be part of the Investors in People family.
