Why did you enter the Investors in People 2024 Awards?

We have a We invest in people standard accreditation with Investors In People and appreciate the external recognition that having an Investors in People Award attracts. Therefore when David Peglar, our Practitioner, prompted us to consider entering the awards it seemed like an obvious next step. I submitted our application for Best People Team because I’m so proud of what my team have achieved over the past 18 months, during a critical moment of transformation for the business. I also know that we have lots more to achieve together as a team over the next 18 months, therefore the award feels like not only strong validation of what we have been working so hard to achieve to date but also to motivate them for the year ahead.

What has it meant to you, your team, and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2024 Award?

Both for myself and my team, the award shortlisting has come at the perfect time. We have received a much needed energy boost and further confidence in our convictions. To see the wider business celebrating with us has also been so heart warming. Sharing the news more widely across our network has attracted renewed interest in what we are striving to achieve from a people perspective. It’s been a tricky few years for the business, but we’ve made such great progress as a business over the past 12 months. The news that we’ve been shortlisted has therefore created a further reason for us to proudly share all the incredible things we’ve been doing for all our team members here at Lifetime Group.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2024 Award?

Honestly, just having the chance to attend such an event as a team and to celebrate being shortlisted together is special enough. Of course, being the winner would be the icing on the cake but the competition looks tough! However if we were to win, it would be even greater validation for the team and an even stronger message externally, to all our stakeholders around the positive transformation we are working with our team members on here. We would be keen to ensure we leverage that to the maximum!

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engage in awards and events like this one?

Investors in People is such a highly regarded measure of employee engagement globally that it’s important to us that we are seen to be part of the community. Awards are a wonderful accolade, a rubber stamp if you like, for all our hard work and passion to drive positive transformation for our people. The event itself is then a wonderful and relatively rare occasion for us to come together as a team in a special setting – to celebrate together, to feel spoilt, to create special memories and have good time together.
