Why did you enter the Investors in People 2024 Awards?

Manston Investments is very proud of our Gold status and all our employees have been highly engaged throughout our IIP journey. When we received the opportunity to enter the awards, all our team encouraged the entry and it became a Manston project, with everyone’s input. We wanted the IIP board to see the progress and success that we have achieved through training, sharing knowledge, and working on our key values.

What has it meant to you, your team, and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2024 Award?

The reaction to being shortlisted has been incredible, not only from employees and our Board of Directors but from our suppliers and companies we work with closely and regularly. Our suppliers have shared our journey from the start and recognise Manston as being an excellent employer who recognises and celebrates achievements and staff retention. It is the people that we employ who drive our business forward and we want to celebrate and recognise their achievements.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2024 Award?

To include words ‘GOLD AWARD WINNERS’ on all our company branding and correspondence would be the icing on the cake. The IIP journey has been a challenge at times, COVID set us back, remote working has been a challenge but through each hurdle we’ve achieved the extra step. Starting with Bronze, through to silver and on to Gold, now we are shortlisted. We must be doing something right!! To win, would provide a huge amount of recognition to our team and it would mean that it’s not just Manston who knows they are amazing, it is the whole IIP community.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engage in awards and events like this one?

The opportunity to meet like minded companies and to be able to network, discuss and share ideas. What works for us, may work for others and this works both ways. We see such events as an opening to like-minded business with the same ethics that we have. It may provide us with business opportunities, or with new suppliers or new friends.
