OTD’s ambition has always been designed to ignite innovation and strengthen the development of our people, which was part of the decision to enter The Investors in Peoples Awards. Our journey with IIP started in 2011 as our ambition in becoming an employer of choice led us to adopt the IIP We invest in people framework.
At a time where OTD was growing, we recognised that the key to sustainable success lay in the strength, engagement, and investment of our team. The IIP framework aligned perfectly with our vision to create a workplace where every person could thrive. It offered a robust, evidence-based approach that was going to help elevate our company culture and it’s framework would help embed practices that nurtured talent, fostered open communication, and empowered our team to drive the company forward.
Since our journey has started, there have been a number of significant milestones, including achieving IIP We invest in people Gold status twice. It was these accomplishments that inspired our strategic decision, to strive for Platinum accreditation in 2021. Driven by the belief that the true strength of our company stems from our incredible team, we felt they deserved both the recognition and the investment that comes with being part of something truly amazing. It was this, that fuelled our determination, knowing our collaborative approach could help achieve greatness and the highest level of recognition.
Our ambition for Platinum success has always been championed by our Senior Leadership Team. Their commitment led our focus from the top by becoming involved in our bi-weekly reviewal process. SLT worked hand in hand with our team, evaluating current practices and actively brainstorming and suggesting ways to continuously improve. Their dedication to this collaborative process made our vision for Platinum success a shared mission, one that inspired change and innovation.
Our whole team are fully engaged with our commitment so it was only right that we entered the award for Employer of the Year!
Being shortlisted as a finalist for the IIP awards is an incredible honour for me and our organisation. It is a testament to the hard work, dedication and passion we’ve invested in creating a positive and high performing workplace culture. For OTD to be finalists in the Employer of the Year – Platinum (2-49) Category, brings a deep sense of pride and recognition, knowing that our efforts to foster professional growth, innovation and wellbeing have been acknowledged on such a prestigious platform.
Winning Employer of the Year: Platinum (2-49) would be a tremendous achievement for OTD. It would symbolise the efforts made by our organisation to prioritise our people and build a thriving, supportive, workplace culture. It would not only serve as validation of our commitment to excellence in people management and development but also put us in a position to showcase our dedication to creating an environment where people can grow, innovate and feel valued.
For OTD, this recognition would boost morale, strengthen brand reputation, and enhance our ability to attract and retain top talent. It would be a powerful affirmation that our strategies are effective, inspiring us to continue evolving, engaging and supporting our whole team.
It would really highlight that our collective efforts as a team has truly made a difference.
For OTD, being part of the IIP community and engaging in award events like this is incredibly important. It provides us with a platform to align with best practices in people management and continuous improvement, which are core to our values. The IIP community fosters learning and collaboration, allowing us to connect with like – minded organisations committed to investing in their people and creating meaningful change.
Participating in award events not only gives us the opportunity to showcase our own achievements but also to gain insights from others and further refine our strategies. It’s a chance to celebrate our progress, reflect on the journey, and be inspired by industry leaders. Being part of this community strengthens our commitment to excellence and keeps us at the forefront of innovative approaches in talent development, helping OTD maintain a competitive edge while continuing to enhance employee well-being and organisational success.
