Why did you enter the Investors in People 2024 Awards?

We entered the Investors in People Awards because we truly believe that our people are at the heart of our business and the key to our continued success. Our team consistently goes above & beyond, and have helped us to navigate through industry changes, challenges, significant growth and successes. 2024 has been a remarkable year for Simpsons Beverage and our people, from celebrating our 90th year in business, a monumental milestone in itself to being recognised as a Platinum accredited Investors in People Business early this year, each team has continued to smash through their targets and achieve beyond our expectations.

The Investors in People Awards allows us to highlight our exceptional team, their commitment, drive & dedication and celebrate their role in the continued success of our business.

What has it meant to you, your team, and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2024 Award?

Being shortlisted for the Investors in People Employer of the Year (50-249) Award is the ultimate honour. To be recognised for the dedication, health, wellbeing and support we have in place is a firm indication of the positive culture we hold here at Simpsons.

Our investment in our enhanced training program has opened up many opportunities for internal promotions to enhance and grow our leadership team. We have worked hard to improve processes, communication forums, and skill set alongside sustainable investment. The recognition of being shortlisted affirms that we are achieving the goals we have set ourselves.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2024 Award?

To be recognised as Employer of the Year will be the pinnacle of success for our 90th year. The Investors in People framework has been embedded and aligned with our values throughout our IIP journey from an accredited business to a Platinum business. Winning will be a great springboard for continuing to motivate us all to do what we do well and to keep improving. It will also position us as the local employer of choice, aiding in recruiting the right people. Being recognised as a business that puts its people first, through our values and development schemes to reward and recognition.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engage in awards and events like this one?

Over the last 8 years we have built up our relationship with our IIP practitioner and have attended numerous events. The support has been fantastic in helping us develop and continually improve. Being able to network with other businesses is incredibly powerful. Sharing stories about what has worked for ourselves and others emphasises that we are part of a bigger community of like-minded people.
