Via – Director of People

The Investors in People Awards 2024 - Finalist Case Study

Via – Director of People

Nominated for The Award for Third Sector Employer of the Year, The Award for UK Employer of the Year: Gold (250+ people)

Why did you enter the Investors in People 2024 Awards?

Working with our assessor, Jo to recently achieve Investors in People Gold has been such a worthwhile experience. Being part of an inspiring community has been great for Via. Entering for the awards encourages us to continue with the work we do to invest in the people who work alongside people to transform lives and contribute positively to communities. We entered the Investors in People 2024 Awards to further recognise all the commitment and continuing hard work by all our Via colleagues in showing how we value and appreciate our people. We were thrilled to be shortlisted for Third Sector Employer of the Year and UK Employer of the Year in our category.

What has it meant to you, your team, and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2024 Award?

The Investors in People framework has helped Via measure progress against our strategic People objectives. We are proud to have recently achieved the Gold Award after achieving Silver in 2021. Being invited to apply for such a prestigious award and then being shortlisted is fantastic for a charity with limited resources. It means so much to us at Team Via. We are so pleased to be recognised for the efforts we are making in diversity equity inclusion and belonging and for the work we have done to show value and appreciation to our people.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2024 Award?

Winning an award would help to demonstrate what can be achieved through a co produced people strategy, even where there are minimal resources. We have more people applying to work with us, people stay longer and tell us they love our benefits package and efforts in diversity, equity inclusion and belonging. Having the commitment and hard work made by people all across Via at all levels in being shortlisted for such an amazing award motivates us to carry on and to achieve more for our people.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engage in awards and events like this one?

It is really important for Via and organisations like Via to be part of the Investors in People community and to engage in the Investors in People Awards. We gain so much from the community and the great work that goes on. Having the Investors in People framework has helped us to develop our people strategy and being recognised through being shortlisting shows what can be achieved with limited resources.
