The Investors in People Awards 2024 - Finalist Case Study

Nominated for The Award for Health and Wellbeing (up to 500 Employees)

Why did you enter the Investors in People 2024 Awards?

We believe that our people are our greatest asset and as a result, their safety, health, and wellbeing is paramount. We’ve been working incredibly hard over the past five years to provide our team with a genuinely inspiring and encouraging work environment, supporting individuals both personally and professionally.

Entering The Investors in People Awards 2024 not only allows us to celebrate the positive impact our health and wellbeing initiatives have had on our workforce and our overall business success, but they also shine a well-deserved light on our dedicated team who have worked tirelessly to bring these projects to life.

As a small business with limited resource, we are extremely selective in the award schemes we put ourselves forward for and focus our efforts on those that best align with our values and strategic goals. This ensures that our participation maximises our visibility and credibility externally, and cultivates a sense of pride and motivation within our team.

Investors in People’s We invest in people accreditation is renowned for its rigorous standards, and is a highly sought-after certification recognised by businesses and employees alike. We believe that The Investors in People Awards are the pinnacle of recognition for our efforts, reflecting the highest standards of workplace wellbeing and employee engagement.

What has it meant to you, your team, and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2024 Award?

To be recognised by an institution like Investors in People is an incredible honour for a family-owned business based in rural Welshpool. It validates the hard work and dedication we have put into creating a supportive and healthy work environment, and has helped to boost morale across the board.

Locally, our Investors in People We invest in people accreditation and The Investors in People Awards 2024 shortlisting play a crucial role in enhancing our reputation as an employer of choice, helping to attract and retain top talent, and reinforcing our standing in the region.

Being shortlisted has given our team even more motivation to innovate, and continuously improve our wellbeing practices and offering. It has set a benchmark for our future endeavours and has encouraged us to seek new ways to enhance our employees’ wellbeing and maintain high standards.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2024 Award?

Winning an award at The Investors in People Awards would be a monumental achievement for a small business like Wipak UK, providing us with a powerful platform to strengthen our relationships with clients and partners, and inspire continued excellence and innovation within our business.

The Award for Health and Wellbeing, specifically, would serve as a testament to our unwavering commitment to our workplace culture. Winning this accolade would help to solidify our reputation as an employer of choice in our industry, and showcase Powys (and Wales) as a thriving hub for talent, innovation, and prosperity. Our county has the lowest unemployment rate in Wales and if we can help attract more people to work and thrive here, there is always demand for skilled labour and professional services.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engage in awards and events like this one?

Wipak UK has a pool of both technical and operational experts, and in an industry that demands precision and innovation, employee retention is imperative. Whilst our vision and values has attracted top talent into the business, we recognise the importance of offering a genuinely inspiring and encouraging work environment which supports employees both personally and professionally, and substantiating this value. Being a part of the Investors in People community allows us to benchmark our practices against the highest standards in people management. Using the We invest in people framework drives our continuous improvement and ensures we continually strive for excellence.

We believe in the power of sharing knowledge and experiences. By participating in The Investors in People Awards 2024, and being shortlisted in the Award for Health and Wellbeing category, we hope to contribute to the broader conversation about employee wellbeing and learn from other organisations’ best practices.
