Aberlour, as the largest solely Scottish children’s charity, has long championed the wellbeing, empowerment, and development of both its staff and the vulnerable families we support. Aberlour’s mission is deeply rooted in supporting children and families through trauma-informed care, advocacy, and community-based services. Our frontline staff, support teams and managers go above and beyond to deliver life-changing services. Entering the awards is a way to honour their dedication and resilience. The assessment process encouraged reflection and learning to refine our internal practices, from leadership development to staff wellbeing strategies. For me personally it confirms that our commitment to people development, wellbeing, and leadership is working and reinforces my belief that when you invest in people, you unlock extraordinary potential.

For our team it’s a celebration of our collective effort. Every member of our team has contributed to building a culture where people feel valued, supported, and empowered. It strengthens our sense of purpose — reminding us that what we do matters and is making a difference.

For our organisation it’s a testament to our values of respect, integrity, challenge and innovation. Being shortlisted confirms to our partners, supporters, and community that we are serious about creating a thriving workplace. It also enhances our reputation and helps attract talent who share our commitment to excellence and people-first leadership.
