Why did you enter the Investors in People 2025 Awards?

We decided to enter the Investors in People 2025 Awards because we found real meaning in the accreditation process. Having had the opportunity to look objectively at our people practices and celebrate some achievements, but equally pinpoint areas for growth, we wanted to celebrate the hard work of everyone involved, especially our People team. The awards process itself felt like a perfect opportunity for reflection and an opportunity to plan even better initiatives for the years ahead.

What has it meant to you, your team, and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2025 Award?

We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for the Investors in People Employer of the Year 2025 Award (250+ Employees). This achievement, combined with our accreditation, is a testament to the dedication and hard work of every single member of the Agena team. At Agena Group, our people are central to everything we do, and it is truly humbling to have this commitment recognised by a global accreditation body such as Investors in People. Being named as finalists is a genuine privilege and an honour for us all.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2025 Award?

Winning an Investors in People 2025 Award would be an incredible honour for our organisation. We hold the Investors in People brand in high regard and greatly value the support they offer to the people profession and businesses, encouraging all to continually strive for improvement.

Being shortlisted alongside such impressive peers is truly humbling. To win this award would provide a remarkable opportunity for external recognition. We would be absolutely ecstatic if our ongoing hard work and determination to advance the interests of our people were acknowledged in this way. Achieving this recognition would serve as a powerful validation of our commitment to always move forward for our people.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engage in awards and events like this one?

Being a part of the Investors in People community is really important to Agena Group. Participation in awards and related events not only positions Agena Group as an employer of choice for both current employees and potential candidates, but it also showcases our reputation to clients. Engaging actively in these events is closely aligned with our People Strategy framework, providing valuable opportunities to showcase our commitment to people development and organisational excellence.
Furthermore, involvement in the Investors in People awards and events ensures that Agena Group remains up to date with the latest industry trends. This ongoing engagement enables us to benchmark our practices, learn from peers, and continually adapt to the evolving expectations within our sector. In this way, our participation supports both internal growth and external recognition, contributing to the ongoing success of our organisation.

In 2018 when I first joined the organisation I went to a seminar about Investors in People in London to learn about the accreditation process, and knew from that moment it was an ambition of mine for us to hold the accreditation. I used the Investors in People framework as a helpful guide to setting up a People department from scratch to set us up for success.
