Why did you enter the Investors in People 2025 Awards?

For many years, like many SMEs in our sector, our priority was on operations, customers, and growth. What makes this moment significant is the transformation we have achieved by building a culture where employees are truly valued, supported, and given genuine opportunities to develop.

Being able to put ourselves forward for an award that recognises organisations that put their people at the centre is an incredible achievement in itself. It represents how far ACS has come in such a short time.

Our decision to enter the Investors in People Awards 2025 is about showcasing this journey and the work our teams and leaders have put into reshaping ACS into a company where individuals can thrive and where their contributions directly shape our future success. Whether or not we win, being recognised alongside organisations that share this commitment is proof that ACS has become a business defined by its culture as much as its technical expertise.

What has it meant to you, your team, and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2025 Award?

Being shortlisted for an Investors in People 2025 Award has been an incredibly proud moment for ACS. It demonstrates that the effort we have put into reshaping our culture and prioritising our people is being recognised at the highest level, and it positions ACS alongside some of the best employers in the UK

For our leaders and management team, it is validation that the changes we have made are not only the right ones for our people but also for the long-term success of the company. It shows that by investing in our workforce, we are strengthening ACS for the future.

For our employees, being shortlisted proves the hard work going into making ACS an amazing place to work is paying off. We want our people to feel valued and to know that we are committed to creating an environment where everyone can grow and develop.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2025 Award?

Winning an Investors in People 2025 Award would be an incredible milestone for ACS. The team were already so thrilled to achieve the Investors in People Gold accreditation on our very first attempt last year, to then go on to win in a Employer of The Year category would be an even greater recognition of the culture we have worked tirelessly to achieve and how far we have come.

We hope it would demonstrate that ACS is a place where people seeking roles in aviation can grow, develop and be supported, while also helping us attract and retain the very best talent in our sector.

From a business perspective, winning would strengthen our credibility as we expand internationally. It would show that ACS is not only a trusted aviation partner but also a forward-thinking employer, setting standards for people culture in a highly technical industry.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engage in awards and events like this one?

Being part of the Investors in People community is very important for us because it gives ACS the chance to both learn from and benchmark ourselves against other leading organisations. The IIP framework provides a clear structure that helps us measure our progress and hold ourselves accountable as we continue to improve.

It also strengthens our reputation externally. Since achieving Gold accreditation, we have already received several mentions from recruiters and other companies who recognise what that standard represents. This has given ACS additional credibility in conversations with partners, customers, and future employees.

Most importantly, being part of IIP keeps us focused on continuous improvement as we grow. As ACS expands, the IIP community will help ensure that our people remain at the centre of everything we do, no matter how much we grow.
