At GRAHAM, we know that our people are our greatest strength. Everything we achieve as a business is built on the commitment, skills, and wellbeing of our teams. That’s why we don’t just talk about wellbeing – we invest in it, champion it, and continually look for ways to improve it.
This year, we’ve taken that commitment one step further by entering the Investors in People (IIP) Awards 2025. These prestigious awards celebrate organisations across the UK and beyond who are leading the way in supporting, developing, and empowering their people.
Why did we enter?
What does this mean for you?
Win or lose, entering the IIP Awards is about celebrating you – our people. Every small step we take together towards better wellbeing contributes to the bigger picture, and we’re proud to shine a spotlight on that collective effort.
So, whether it’s through supporting a colleague, joining a wellbeing campaign, or making use of the resources available, you’re all part of why GRAHAM Wellbeing deserves recognition on a national stage.
For us, this isn’t just about an award – it’s recognition of the hard work, passion, and belief that wellbeing should sit at the heart of everything we do at GRAHAM. Every initiative we’ve launched, every conversation we’ve had on site, every colleague we’ve supported – it all comes down to one goal: making GRAHAM a place where people feel valued, supported, and able to thrive.
What it means to me
As Group Wellbeing Manager, I see first-hand the challenges our people face across the business and the incredible resilience they show. To be shortlisted means that the effort we put into listening, learning, and taking action is being recognised outside of GRAHAM – on a national stage. It shows that our commitment to wellbeing isn’t just words on a page, but something we live and breathe.
What it means to the Wellbeing team
For the Wellbeing team, this recognition is about teamwork. From our Wellbeing Champions and MHFAs, to colleagues who share resources and look out for one another every day – this shortlisting reflects all of you. It tells us that the culture we’re building together is making an impact.
Looking ahead
Win or lose, being shortlisted is motivation to keep going further. We’re determined to continue building a workplace where wellbeing is more than a programme – it’s part of who we are at GRAHAM.
Winning an Investors in People 2025 Award would be a powerful recognition of GRAHAM’s belief that our people are at the heart of everything we do. For us, wellbeing, development and support are not “add-ons” – they are essential foundations of how we deliver excellence for our clients, communities and each other.
To receive this award would validate the commitment, innovation and teamwork that has gone into embedding wellbeing and people-first practices across GRAHAM. It would show our employees, partners and the wider construction industry that our approach is not only effective but also industry-leading.
For our colleagues, it would be a moment of pride and reassurance that their voices are being heard and their wellbeing truly matters. For our wellbeing and people teams, it would be an acknowledgement of years of hard work, creativity and perseverance in driving cultural change across a traditionally challenging sector. For our leaders, it would confirm that our investment in people is delivering results not just in business performance, but in trust, loyalty and long-term sustainability.
Most importantly, winning would give us the platform to inspire others in construction and beyond to place wellbeing and people development at the centre of their organisations. It would strengthen our resolve to continue raising standards, challenging stigma, and ensuring that GRAHAM remains a place where people can thrive both professionally and personally.
In short, it would be a milestone in our journey – not the destination – but a clear signal that we are moving in the right direction together.
Being part of the IIP community is highly important for GRAHAM, as it allows us to benchmark our practices, learn from industry leaders, and continuously improve the experience and support we provide to our colleagues. Engaging in IIP awards and events demonstrates our commitment to excellence in people management and well-being, while also celebrating the tangible impact of our programmes, like RENEW, across the business.
These opportunities allow us to showcase our innovative approaches, share best practice, and gain recognition for the positive culture we are building. They also help motivate our teams, showing that their efforts and dedication to well-being are valued both internally and externally. Being active in the IIP community strengthens our reputation as an employer that genuinely cares about its people and encourages a continuous dialogue about what great people management and well-being should look like in practice.
