Hampton by Hilton High Wycombe

The Investors in People Awards 2025 - Finalist Case Study

Nominated for The Award for Inspirational Leadership & Impact

Why did you enter the Investors in People 2025 Awards?

The Inspirational Leadership & Impact category aligns with our belief that leadership is not just about directing—it’s about uplifting others, building sustainable change, and creating a culture where people feel empowered to grow. We entered the Investors in People 2025 Awards to showcase the resilience, integrity, and innovation that defined our leadership approach during one of the most challenging periods in hospitality.

Following our successful strategy during 2024–25—led by our Regional Operations Manager, Kasia Szczechowicz, a Leader of the Year award winner 2024 —we felt it was the right time to celebrate not just individual leadership, but the collective transformation that occurred across our team at Hampton by Hilton High Wycombe and is cascading now throughout Legacy Hotels and Resorts Portfolio.

The Investors In People is a powerful for people-centric excellence, and we are proud to stand among organisations that value purpose-driven leadership.

What has it meant to you, your team, and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2025 Award?

Being shortlisted is a profound moment of pride and recognition for our entire team. It affirms that the difficult decisions we made—choosing development over cuts, compassion over convenience —were not only right but impactful.

For our leaders and frontline team alike, the shortlisting serves as a motivator, reinforcing that their contributions are valued at the highest level. It validates our belief that leadership exists at all levels, and that mentoring, coaching, and inclusive planning are powerful tools for business transformation.

It has also boosted morale and created a renewed sense of purpose, especially as many of our team members have risen from junior roles into leadership positions as a direct result of our commitment to developing people.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2025 Award?

Winning this award would be a defining milestone—not just for our hotel, but for our culture and people. It would publicly honour the courageous, value-led leadership shown across our teams, especially during economic uncertainty and operational adversity.
Beyond internal impact, winning would provide us with a credible platform to influence best practices across the wider Hilton and Legacy Hotels network, encouraging others to adopt similar people-first strategies rooted in empathy, accountability, and innovation.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engage in awards and events like this one?

Being part of the Investors in People community is vital to us. It keeps us accountable, connected, and continually evolving. The Investors In People framework provides clear guidance and benchmarking, helping us improve not only our processes, but our people outcomes.

Engaging in events and awards like this one allows us to learn from others, celebrate best practices, and remain aligned with global standards for leadership, inclusion, and employee engagement. It challenges us to think bigger, act bolder, and keep pushing the boundaries of what people-focused leadership looks like in modern hospitality.

The community has helped us move beyond traditional management and build a culture that is truly inspirational—one where leadership is shared, impact is measurable, and people are the reason we succeed.
