At IFCO, our purpose is to make the fresh grocery supply chain sustainable. This drives everything we do: from how we serve customers to how we support our people. Entering the Investors in People Award 2025 gave us the opportunity to reflect on our journey, celebrate progress, and challenge ourselves to keep evolving.
Over the past few years, we’ve made deliberate investments in our people strategy. We’ve strengthened leadership capability, embedded Wellbeing into everyday working life, and created tools that help managers lead with care and clarity. Our culture is built on trust, inclusion, and development, not just because it’s good for business, but because it’s the right thing to do.
Our strategy, Thriving with Purpose, is powered by our people. Their ability to anticipate customer needs, take initiative, and work together as one team is what turns ambition into delivery. It’s a culture of agility, ownership and shared success and it’s what makes IFCO a place where people can grow and thrive.
This award also allows us to recognise the everyday efforts of our teams from HR to leadership to every individual who lives our values. It’s a way to benchmark ourselves against global best practice and reaffirm our commitment to building a thriving business, a thriving planet and a thriving society.
Being shortlisted is a proud moment for IFCO Germany and our global teams. It’s a meaningful recognition of the culture we’ve worked hard to build, one rooted in loyalty, commitment and pride in what we do. It tells our people that their contributions matter and that the environment we’ve created together is being recognised beyond our own walls.
It’s also a moment to reflect. We’ve made intentional choices to support our people, through leadership development, coaching, and a wellbeing approach that spans all four pillars of health. These efforts are not standalone initiatives; they’re part of how we live our purpose every day.
This recognition reinforces our belief that people are the foundation of everything we do. It’s not just about performance, it’s about creating a workplace where people feel seen, heard and valued. Being shortlisted gives us the chance to share our journey, learn from others, and continue to grow together and within the IIP community.
Winning would be a moment of immense pride for IFCO. It would be a heartfelt thank you to our people for their commitment, their care, and their belief in what we’re building together. It would validate that our purpose-led approach is not only working but making a real difference.
At IFCO, we believe that when we put our people first, everything else follows. When our teams feel supported, they inspire each other, they innovate, and they help drive change, not just within the workplace, but far beyond it.
This award would be a powerful recognition of our values in action. It would confirm that we’re on the right path, and it would strengthen our voice within the Investors in People community.
Most of all, it would inspire us to keep going to keep investing in our people, and to keep unlocking the extraordinary.
Being part of the Investors in People community is important to us because it allows us to demonstrate our genuine commitment to making work better for everyone at IFCO. We care deeply about how our people experience work, not just how they deliver, but how they feel while doing it. This platform gives us the opportunity to show that we are serious about creating a workplace where people feel valued, supported and happy.
This is our first year with Investors in People, and already it has given us access to valuable insights, resources and a community that is helping us grow. Although we are first-time entrants, we are committed to learning, improving and contributing to the wider conversation about what great work looks like.
Over the past five years, IFCO Germany has doubled in size and evolved rapidly. This growth brought opportunity and pressure, and we want to recognise and celebrate the incredible contribution and resilience of our people.
Our purpose, making the fresh grocery supply chain sustainable, is something our people truly believe in. It’s not just about supplying fresh food to the world, but also to their own families. That sense of pride and connection to our mission is a powerful driver of engagement.
We are building our organisation on trust through transparency, being open and honest, sharing information and never hiding a problem. Being part of this community helps us benchmark, learn and be challenged to do even better.
As we grow as one IFCO team, our values and our people remain at the heart of everything we do. Engaging in awards and events like this one helps us reflect, celebrate and stay inspired to keep improving.
