Progress Housing Group Ltd

The Investors in People Awards 2025 - Finalist Case Study

Nominated for The Award for Excellence in Building Purpose-Driven Impact (over 250 employees)

Why did you enter the Investors in People 2025 Awards?

At Progress Housing Group our mission is clear, “to have a positive impact on people and communities by providing high-quality homes, supporting independence and creating opportunities”. This purpose is the foundation of everything we do and it’s brought to life every day by our people.

Our shared values, People-focused, Forward-thinking, Genuine, Expert, Collaborative are more than words. They shape how we lead, how we support one another and how we serve. We’ve worked hard to embed these values into our culture, ensuring they guide decision-making at every level.

Over the last two years we have worked intentionally to connect our purpose across teams and services. Programmes such as Progress Futures, Brighter Futures and Project SEARCH unite colleagues who work in housing, human resources, property services and learning & development around one shared goal, enabling tenants and communities to thrive. Regular shared storytelling helps colleagues see the difference their work makes, strengthening our collective sense of mission.

We entered this award to celebrate not only the way our purpose is communicated, but how it is genuinely lived. Our colleagues are empowered to connect their roles to a bigger mission, which enhances engagement, wellbeing and pride in their work. We drive social value through meaningful partnerships and initiatives that create lasting impact in the communities we serve. Sustainability and inclusion are embedded in our organisation, ensuring we’re building a legacy that matters.

This award is an opportunity to recognise the collective effort of our people in creating a purpose-driven culture, one that inspires action, delivers impact and puts people at the heart of everything we do.

What has it meant to you, your team, and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2025 Award?

It has sparked a renewed sense of pride and connection, reminding us all that we are part of something bigger than ourselves.

The shortlist announcement became a catalyst for learning. Leaders have embedded these insights into development conversations, reinforcing that living our values also strengthens performance and innovation.

For our leaders, it’s a reflection of the culture we’ve nurtured, one where purpose is not just a statement but a shared mindset that drives decision-making, inspires innovation and puts people and communities at the heart of everything we do.
