The Investors in People Awards 2025 - Finalist Case Study

Nominated for The Award for UK Employer of the Year: Gold (50-249 people)

Why did you enter the Investors in People 2025 Awards?

QCS has been on our Investors in People journey for a while now, but this year really felt like a turning point for us. It’s been a year of real connection, courage and collective change. Together, we have brought our updated values of Team, Respect, Lead and Deliver to life, not just talking about them, but seeing every single person at the business living them every day in how we support, grow and show up for each other and even more impressively, our customers.

We decided to enter the IIP Awards because this year felt different and in many ways a new chapter for our business. Every initiative we launched came from genuine care for our people and every single one was embraced with pride and energy across all teams. Nothing sat on the shelf; everything we put forward has made a real difference when it comes to engagement, interaction and a sense of pride when it comes to working for QCS.

This entry is our way of celebrating that. It’s a thank you to our people for embracing change, backing each other and turning great ideas into everyday reality. The IIP journey has helped us keep growing, learning and listening and this year, we felt we’d truly moved from plans on paper to lasting impact that will be built on moving forward.

What has it meant to you, your team, and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2025 Award?

Being shortlisted has meant a lot to us all. It’s not just about recognition, it’s a reflection of everything we have built together. Every idea shared, every initiative launched, every conversation that made us better has all played a part in getting us here.
For our people, it’s a huge moment of pride. It shows that their voices, feedback and effort really shape what QCS is and is becoming. For our leaders, it’s proof that open, honest and values-led communication works and that trust and care are what make strong teams thrive.

Across the business, the news has given us an extra spark. It’s brought everyone closer, reminded us what’s possible when we work as one and given us even more motivation to keep building on what we’ve started. We are proud, grateful and already thinking about what’s next to continue on this important journey.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2025 Award?

Winning would be incredible! Not just for the leaders at QCS, but for every single person who’s been part of this journey. It would recognise the time, energy and heart that everyone’s poured into making our culture something truly special.

It would also mean recognition for how we have embraced change, for never standing still and for turning feedback into real, visible action. Our people have driven this, they have not followed a plan written for them on paper and that’s what makes it powerful.

It would also give us momentum. We see it not as the finish line, but as a launchpad to go even further, to keep investing in our people, to keep sharing what works and to learn from our community.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engage in awards and events like this one?

Being part of the IIP community means a lot to us. It’s about being surrounded by organisations who care deeply about their people and who want to keep learning and growing, just like we do. The feedback and conversations we’ve had through IIP have been invaluable; they have challenged us, inspired us and helped turn good intentions into real, concrete actions.

The events and awards are such a great space to celebrate, connect and be inspired by others who are trying to make places of work better for everyone. It’s also a chance for us to share what’s worked for us (especially in the care sector) and to learn from others doing brilliant things in their own spaces.

We see IIP as more than accreditation: it’s a partnership and a mindset. It keeps us focused, grounded and always thinking about how we can make QCS an even better place to belong, and continue to make sure people want to be a part of it.
