About Rejuvo JPCS
Growing a business isn’t just about delivering good work. It’s about getting to know your customers and what they need. Solving problems that others can’t. And to do so, means surrounding yourself with people who care about the difference they make.

It’s a philosophy that’s shaped Rejuvo JPCS since 1993. At Rejuvo JPCS, their guiding principle is Amazing Experience, Amazing People, and this ethos drives every decision they make. The goal is simple, to be the best employer in our industry. When Rejuvo JPCS’ people succeed, so does the business.
Rejuvo JPCS earned its first Investors in People accreditation just three years after it began. Working closely with local communities and delivering outstanding road and footway products, the company has attracted, nurtured, and retained their team, championing every employees’ development. It’s this people-first approach that has helped the company go from strength to strength over the years.
25 years later, Investors in People has been supporting the highways maintenance company every step of the way, as it’s developed a more structured Platinum-accredited culture. But growth doesn’t have to mean losing what’s important. With support from Investors in People, Rejuvo JPCS continues to nurture what matters, without losing what made them so special in the first place.
Making caring an official value, not just a ‘nice to have’
Rejuvo JPCS’ people have always been a big part of its missions and values. You only need to look around to see that dedication in action, over 35% of employees have reached double digits for their years of service.
But as the company has grown, senior leaders have been mindful of staying true to Rejuvo JPCS’ core people values; worried that too much change and growth could compromise that. So, to address those concerns head-on, a new perspective was needed.
With the support from the Investors in People framework, ‘Caring’ officially became part of Rejuvo JPCS’ mission values in 2016. Since its introduction, it has defined a critical part of everyday life, and has given leaders clarity and accountability on what’s important. So much so, that in the last employee survey 94% of people agreed that it helped guide the way they work.
“Introducing the ‘Caring’ mission value was important for Rejuvo JPCS. It’s always been part of its DNA, so to have it officially on paper felt right. Using the ‘Leading’ principle in our Investors in People framework, we helped Rejuvo JPCS bring it to life. Senior leaders asked around the company what does it look and feel like to work at Rejuvo JPCS and a lot of answers kept repeating the same thing: ‘Rejuvo JPCS cares about me’. And just like that, the caring company value was crystallised. The culture at Rejuvo JPCS is honest, human, and built on trust — powerful and rare”

Looking after its people
One important part of the ‘Caring’ value is making sure people who join the company feel welcomed and have everything they need to do their job from day one. To make that happen, induction processes are continually put under the microscope.
Investors in People helped shape what had once been informal feedback sessions into a stronger, more structured process. Using the ‘Managing Performance’ part of its framework, Rejuvo JPCS introduced a dedicated ‘Annual induction day’ in 2015. Senior leaders now have a structure to help them take a closer look at what’s working, what’s not and what needs more support.
One recent focus area identified was the need to further strengthen conflict resolution skills. As many of Rejuvo JPCS’ frontline people interact with the public on a daily basis, there is an increasing challenge of Highway Workforce Abuse across the sector. To address this, and to ensure staff are equipped to manage and de‑escalate difficult interactions safely and professionally, Rejuvo JPCS used the Investors in People framework to strengthen its People Plan. With recommendations from Investors in People around setting boundaries, managing expectations, avoiding burnout and more, the company delivers targeted training programmes that provide practical tools and techniques to handle challenging situations effectively.
Talking things through
Looking after people isn’t just about making sure they’re physically ok. With a predominantly male workforce, sensitive topics, like high suicide rates within the industry, can affect many workers. So Rejuvo JPCS works hard to make sure their people have the support they need.
Thankfully, with the comradery that teams have built up after working together for years, there is already a strong foundation to build on. Teammates actively want to help each other, and team leaders want to offer as much support wherever possible.
Using various indicators in the Investors in People framework has helped create a strong, robust support system. The ‘Empowering and Involving People’ indicator has encouraged a culture of trust and ownership when it comes to decision making, aiming to help reduce stress. While the ‘Recognising and Rewarding High Performance’ indicator has increased appreciation to boost morale and make people feel valued.
It’s an ongoing process to make sure everyone at Rejuvo JPCS is looked after. And with the support from Investors in People, the company knows that if one route doesn’t work, it can look for another that will.
“Our colleagues who make up our business are at the very core of everything we do and stand for. Whether it’s engaging with customers over the phone, face to face, or working out in the field to repair roads and footways near people’s homes, every contribution matters. Their deep knowledge and understanding of our products, processes, and the communities we serve, combined with a commitment to finding the right solutions for our customers, continually align with our shared objectives.
It’s this dedication that drives excellence throughout our organisation, fuels our innovative spirit, and underpins our pursuit of sustainable success. I’m proud of the work we accomplish together and grateful for the energy and expertise everyone brings each day.
“We use the Investor in People framework as an effective conscience and friend. It not only gives us a structure to look after our people, but it also acts as a platform for us to build bigger and better things together.”
“Whilst some management systems can stifle flow and initiative, we have found working with the Investor in People framework, the right balance is achievable, keeping us on track without constraining innovation.”
Peter Shone, Rejuvo JPCS Managing Director
