2023 year in review

What a year we have had at Investors in People! From our debut Make Work Better Conference to our 10th awards and plenty of travel throughout the UK for our regional celebration events, we have loved seeing so many of you throughout the last 12 months.

Continuing to shine a spotlight on our community, working to ‘Make Work Better’ in the process, we are already looking forward to what 2024 has in store for us all!

In the meantime, as you put your feet up and and enjoy the festive season, we’ve put together an Investors in People ‘Year in Review’ to thank you all for your on-going support and dedication – we hope you enjoy it as much as we’ve enjoyed working with you all this year.

Community Celebration Events

Our Celebration Events held across 2023 proved to be an incredible success. With over 600 clients from our growing community coming together to share best practice, network and be recognised for the amazing work they do with their people. We were delighted to be able to host these events in London, Belfast, Glasgow, Leeds, ReadingLeicester, and Cardiff as well as a special event in London to recognise our International clients.

Thank you to everyone who attended, for your energy, your warmth and your passion to Make Work Better and we look forward to working with you in 2024.

The Make Work Better Conference

Arguably one of the highlights of our year was the debut of our Make Work Better Conference in London, in which our keynote speaker Steven Bartlett, brought the curtain down on a day that we will never forget, especially as there were so many faces, both new and old in attendance.

The conference comprised a full day of keynote sessions and panel discussions, on the most important topics currently faced within the HR industry including the workforce of the future, Health and Wellbeing, Apprenticeships and much more.

Over 500 delegates and speakers descended on the Mermaid theatre in London to listen to, discuss and network with their peers across the day.

The Investors in People Awards

The 2023 Investors in People Awards marked a momentous milestone as we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the event in grand style.

With over 850 guests from across the globe joining us at Old Billingsgate in London for a night of glitz and glamour, this year’s awards showcased the pinnacle of excellence in organisational development and people management.

Companies and leaders from diverse industries gathered to be recognized for their outstanding commitment to cultivating exceptional workplace environments.

Making Work Better

Stories of Sustainable Success from the Investors in People Community

Investors in People have cared passionately about making work better since 1991. 

In September this year, in conjunction with the Make Work Better conference, Investors in people published an exciting testament to what happens when organisations lean fully into this process. 

32 accredited members of our community contributed to the Making Work Better book. Not every organisation featured has achieved our platinum accreditation – although many have – but across every page, the same attitude towards prioritising people, creating opportunity, and strengthening culture is evident. 

That’s the attitude that propels organisations on the journey to success, irrespective of location, sector, or size.

So that was the ‘year that was’ at Investors in People – we’ve spoken about best practice people management on national exhibition stages, we’ve presented awards across the globe, and we’ve handed out hundreds of accreditation plaques, but most importantly to us we’ve grown and strengthened a community, which will stand the test of time!
