Investors in People Supports the #GoBeyondTheBadge Campaign

Beyond the Badge is a movement that encourages consumers to challenge the labels and claims that are used by brands they buy from. The campaign aims to educate individuals about ways they can identify genuine labels and claims, and therefore make more informed choices. 

We support the #GoBeyondTheBadge campaign because a badge is more than just a stamp. Investors in People signifies a good employer, it represents a workplace where every individual has the opportunity to fulfil their potential. As a Community Interest Company, it is important to us that we contribute to fairer society by promoting that organisations invest in their people. #GoBeyondTheBadge encourages individuals to think more about the labels and badges that appear on the products they buy or services they work with, and to find out what they actually mean. 

Similarly, people should consider and research the badges that organisations display when considering employment. Investors in People’s annual job exodus campaign found that for 23% of employees, having a proven reputation as a good employer is the most important quality they look for in an employer. Looking out for a symbol of accreditation which has been independently assessed and awarded by a third party, who specialise in a particular area, can be a great way to have assurance that a company operates to a certain standard.
