Plans have been revealed for Investors in People to be established as a new independent Community Interest Company (CIC) from 1 February 2017, a move which will enhance the organisation’s ability to deliver for employees, businesses and communities.
Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining how to lead, manage and support people well for sustainable results. There are 13000 businesses accredited with the Investors in People Standard across the world. Currently, IIP is owned by the UK Commission for Employment & Skills (UKCES), a publicly funded, industry-led organisation that offers guidance on skills and employment issues in the UK.
The new Community Interest Company will be employer led, with a non-executive Board recruited to represent Investors in People accredited businesses. The recruitment of a diverse board will be led by Chair Valerie Todd and will begin immediately. Government will retain a minority stake in the business, with any profits reinvested into evolving world class standards in the interest of employers, employees and individuals.
Investors in People sets the standard for productive, inclusive and sustainable workplaces that get the very best from people.
