What was the IIP motivation?

Sands believe its success in achieving business targets comes from the Team living and believing in its core values and were keen to get feedback on how embedded the values are and where improvements can be made.

Whilst the company had won many industry awards, the Investors in People standard was one, which clearly promotes Values as a key feature in achieving high levels of performance, and appeared as an easy model to follow.

"Sands Hair achieved Bronze under the previous generation of the IIP Standard and have now progressed to Silver with the Sixth Generation Standard. This is something only achieved by less than 9.5% of IIP organisations."

How did IIP help?

The online benchmarking tool helped the Salon Directors to really think about the wider range of business processes across the Salon. At the point of being assessed the Directors welcomed the opportunity to discuss and get feedback on the processes in place to implement its strategy. The Salon Team were encouraged to be given the opportunity to showcase a range of communication, team building, sharing and learning events, and particularly as they had personally helped to introduce and develop many of the activities.

 

The Framework

Working with the framework has made a positive impact on the Salons performance.

Values

The use of Values as a measurement tool led to people feeling more motivated to become involved in the day to day running of the Salon.

Cloud-based app

It also prompted the use of a cloud-based app to measure performance with Clients and collecting immediate feedback on satisfaction levels.
