As a Civil Service organisation, we aim to deliver world-class services while providing value for money. We are undergoing a transformation to introduce the most significant changes since 1877, aiming to be a major player in combating economic crime both in the UK and internationally. Recognising the importance of our people, we have involved them in shaping this journey.
Companies House has seen its role change dramatically as we cement our place on the world’s economic stage. This has required a major reform and shift in skills and mindsets; working in such a changeable and uncertain world is something that not everyone has been exposed to. The Investors in People accreditation is crucial for two reasons: it confirms our commitment to putting our people first, and it aids in attracting and retaining top talent. Accreditation showcases our efforts to provide a supportive and respectful environment for employees.
Participating in these awards acknowledges our journey toward creating an inclusive and engaging workplace. The awards mark a milestone in Companies House’s narrative, reflecting our alignment with best practices in employee engagement, communication, organisational culture, and work practices. Entering The Investors in People 2024 Awards demonstrates our dedication to excellence and continuous improvement.
We entered these awards to honour our colleagues who tirelessly work towards our corporate mission. Our entire workforce has been involved in the Investors in People assessments, eager to showcase their efforts. Our accreditation is an ongoing process, with colleagues encouraged to contribute examples and testimonials, building a robust evidence bank. This process highlights our committed, inclusive, and passionate culture, with everyone taking pride in enhancing confidence in the UK and international economies. Our application for the awards aims to thank and recognise our staff for their dedication to providing world-class public services.
Being shortlisted for two Investors in People awards is a significant honour for Companies House. This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of the team, particularly during such a pivotal time in our transformation. The shortlists affirm our commitment to our employees and our continuous efforts to improve their experience. This recognition fuels our passion for the work we do and reinforces our commitment and giving us the confidence to know that we are being recognised externally and highlighting our commitment to our people.
Our acknowledgment enhances our reputation and credibility, positioning us as a leader in employee engagement, wellbeing, and culture. It showcases our people-first approach and our innovative mindset aimed at maintaining a high-performing organisation. We strive to create a psychologically safe environment that fosters creativity and collaboration, allowing our team to find novel solutions to challenges.
The IIP award evaluation process has been instrumental in helping us reflect on our practices and identify areas for improvement. It drives us to continuously enhance our strategies and remain at the forefront of people management. This commitment to improvement ensures that we support our employees’ development in the best possible way. As the global benchmark for employee engagement, the shortlists celebrates our sense of teamwork, innovation and perseverance. It reminds us that our hard work does not go unnoticed, and our reputation will be improved by putting us on an international stage.
Ultimately, being shortlisted is not just about past achievements; it also inspires future success. It sets a precedent for what is possible and encourages us to aim higher. It sets the standard and motivates us to keep innovating, improving, and making a positive impact in our industry and beyond. This recognition is a testament to our dedication and a catalyst for ongoing excellence.
Winning an award would signify a momentous achievement for us; validating the hard work, dedication, and innovative spirit that our organisation embodies. It would serve as an external affirmation of our commitment to excellence and our relentless pursuit of our mission. Such recognition would not only elevate our status on the global economic landscape but also inspire greater confidence and trust among the public, businesses and stakeholders. Furthermore, it would galvanise our ever-growing team, fostering a sense of pride and motivation to continue striving for higher standards and greater accomplishments.
By winning an Investors in People award, we would attract new opportunities and develop new partnerships. Our platinum status has already bolstered our reputation within the labour market. From September 2000 to September 2024, our workforce grew by 46%, new legislation was introduced, and public targets were consistently met. We strive to be a consistently high performing organisation, and our Investors in People accreditation’s allow us to showcase this to the rest of the world. To win an award would help us to build upon our position on a global scale.
Our strategic goal, ‘Our registers inspire trust and confidence’, is supported by the international interest and requests for help we receive from countries such as Mexico, Luxembourg, Cyprus, Trinidad and Tobago, the Philippines, Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates, the USA, Kazakhstan, Japan and Indonesia. Activity in this space enhances CH’s reputation and helps to drive the UK’s reputation as a great place to do business. Investors in People accolades would further demonstrate that our success is driven by our people, showcasing our culture and approach at the highest level.
It would inspire us to continue striving for greatness and reinforce our belief in the values and vision that drive our success.
