We entered The Investors in People 2025 Awards to celebrate how far we’ve come in building a purpose-driven, people-first organisation. Our mission is to build software that truly matters and we know that achieving this relies on a team that feels empowered, aligned, and connected to both our purpose and our customers.
We’ve embraced a clear sense of purpose and prioritisation which runs through the whole business; creating “freedom in a framework” for teams to manage their own work but be aligned with the big picture; encourage a culture of mutual trust and accountability within the leadership team who are empowered to deliver the business OKR’s (Objectives and Key Results), introduced an Operational Board to support the SLT in solving real business challenges, and continued to invest in and nurture our leadership team.
One of our biggest priorities has been preparing our people for the future. As AI rapidly reshapes the tech landscape, we’re actively investing in our engineers, not to replace them, but to help them thrive in an AI-powered world. We see AI as an opportunity, not a threat, and are committed to supporting our team through that evolution.
We’ve also strengthened how we recruit and onboard new team members, ensuring they feel connected to our purpose and to our customers from day one. We’ve shifted our mindset to focus on outcomes over outputs, and we’ve put the customer at the centre of everything we do.
Investors in People play a vital role in helping us ensure that the whole business is engaged and aligned. Entering the awards allows us to reflect on our journey, celebrate our progress, and continue learning from others who share our belief that success starts with people.
Being shortlisted for an Investors in People 2025 Award is a huge achievement for us. It’s a moment of real pride not just for our Senior Leaders, but across the entire organisation. It validates the work we’ve done to build a culture where people feel connected, supported, and part of something meaningful.
For the team, it’s recognition of the hard work and commitment they’ve shown, whether that’s embracing OKRs to align with our business strategy, supporting one another through rapid growth, or engaging with the positive changes AI is bringing to our industry.
This nomination reinforces that putting people and purpose at the heart of everything – from how we grow, to how we hire, to how we deliver value for customers really does make a difference.
For us as an organisation, it affirms that we’re on the right path: building software that matters, focusing on outcomes over outputs, and embracing change in a way that uplifts our people. It’s also a reminder that success isn’t just about growth or results it’s about how you bring your people with you.
Ultimately, being shortlisted has energised our team and strengthened our belief that when we invest in our people, the whole business moves forward together.
Winning an Investors in People 2025 Award would be an incredible achievement, not just a recognition of what we’ve done, but a powerful symbol of who we are and what we stand for.
Next year, Fivium celebrates 20 years of growth – from a team of just 5 to a thriving family of 75. Throughout this journey, we’ve remained committed to putting our people first, preserving our core values, and ensuring everyone is a valued player. This award would be the perfect recognition to accompany our ongoing success and dedication to our team.
For the wider organisation, it would strengthen our voice as an employer of choice, one that’s serious about investing in its people and committed to continual improvement. It would also deepen our connection to the IIP community, giving us new opportunities to learn from others, share our journey, and continue raising the bar.
Ultimately, winning wouldn’t be the finish line, it would be a motivator to go even further, to keep evolving, and to continue proving that when people thrive, everything else follows.
Being part of the Investors in People community is incredibly important to us. As a people-first organisation, we’re committed to continuous improvement, learning from our own experiments and from others’ successes, and creating a culture where our team can truly bring their wholeselves to work, in an environment where they can thrive. Engaging with the IIP community and awards provides us with an invaluable opportunity to reflect on our progress, benchmark against like-minded organisations, and celebrate the people behind our success.
It also challenges us to think bigger, whether it’s aligning our strategy through OKRs, preparing our teams for an AI-powered future, or ensuring every new recruit feels connected to our mission. The IIP framework helps keep us accountable and united behind a clear purpose.
These events inspire meaningful conversations, ideas, and partnerships. For us, it’s about being part of something bigger, with a shared belief that people are at the heart of business success.
