Change is constant. The question is not whether your organisation is going through it. It is whether your people are energised by it or exhausted by it.
Most leaders assume their people are coping. The research suggests otherwise. Investors in People set out to investigate the real impact of workplace transformation on individuals and organisational performance, and what the organisations navigating change successfully are doing differently.

The research
WHAT THE RESEARCH FOUND
Investors in People surveyed employees and leaders across UK organisations to understand how change is actually landing and not how leaders think it is landing.
The findings are uncomfortable reading for anyone running a change programme right now.
The gap between how leaders experience change and how their people experience it is the single biggest risk factor in any transformation programme. And most organisations are not measuring it.
1 in 4 employees have considered leaving their role because of the amount of change they are experiencing
1 in 5 feel worn down by the amount of organisational change
39% have felt more stressed at work as a direct result of change programmes
1 in 3 say change has made their work-life balance worse
57% of entry-level staff do not feel involved in change decisions
Only 14% of middle managers and 10% of entry-level staff feel energised and ready for change
Inside the report
WHAT IS INSIDE THE REPORT
Finding the Frequency goes beyond the data to examine what drives change readiness, what creates change resistance, and what leaders at high-performing organisations do differently.
The report covers:
- Why the volume of change matters as much as the type, and when too much change tips from challenging to damaging
- How communication style determines whether people feel involved in change or done to by it
- What the most change-ready organisations are doing differently at leadership level
- The specific employee groups most at risk of disengagement during transformation, and why entry-level and middle management are the most overlooked
- Why work-life balance is the most underestimated casualty of poorly managed change
- A practical framework for building the conditions where people embrace rather than resist transformation.
