Rejuvo JPCS is the leading specialist hand-applied micro asphalt contractor and has just become one of a small number of companies to be awarded Investors in People (IIP) – Platinum, the very highest benchmark for people investment and development.
A small company setting itself apart
This award is the result of a massive commitment from a small company that is determined to set itself apart from the competition by doing the right thing.
For Directors Peter Shone and Rosie Shanks, it’s the culmination of a journey focussed on investment in leading, managing, supporting, and developing its people.
One of the first SMEs to receive IIP accreditation
Rejuvo JPCS was one of the first SMEs in construction to be awarded IIP in 1996. Since then, the company has been making progress every year in their journey to become platinum.
Director Rosie Shanks says the company priority is always to make sure the people are put first, “Investing in our colleagues has driven our company performance, we are more effective and profitable as a result, and our customer service is second to none, that’s a critical success factor in our industry.
Investors in People instils a continuous improvement mindset
It’s also about continual improvement. And guiding our development and investment over recent years has been IIP with their terrific knowledge and expertise.”
The IIP assessments take place every three years with assessors interviewing people about their experiences of working at Rejuvo JPCS and collecting the evidence.
A comment from their IIP assessor:
‘Extremely high levels of engagement across all areas with one employee stating that the recognition and reward couldn’t be any better.’
Only 2% of companies are awarded Platinum and within their industry, Rejuvo JPCS achieved a position of 2 out of 160 organisations, an impressive result.
Brilliant benchmarking scores
Our single score benchmark is 864 out of 900 which is 137 above the average IIP score and 138 above the Industry score for Construction.
This IIP Platinum award comes just after Rejuvo JPCS also won an impressive FORS Gold award recognising outstanding work on fleet safety.
Peter Shone, Director of Rejuvo JPCS, says working with IIP has really helped to raise the level of professionalism:
“We save and strengthen roads and footpaths and take huge pride in our work. Our job is only done when our customers are happy. We want to be an amazing company achieving great things and it all starts with our people.
Investing in them also means investing in our customers, as our people are the key to ensuring we deliver a great service to our customers. I really believe that by being a great employer and investing in our staff, that’s where great people want to work and that’s why they will go the extra mile for the customer.”
