 Why did you enter the Investors in People 2023 Awards?

Entering the Investors in People Awards is a fantastic way for us to further demonstrate our ongoing commitment to making CFG a great place to work. We first achieved our gold accreditation back in 2020 and following 3 years of continual investment in our colleagues, have recently retained this level of accreditation, which we are thrilled about. These awards are a great opportunity for us to celebrate this success.

It’s also another way for us to show that we are more than law and how much our colleagues’ matter to us. Awards like these validate what we’re doing for our people and how we’re continually investing in their future.

What has it meant to you, your team and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2023 Award?

To be shortlisted as one of the UK Employers of the Year in the Medium Sized Gold category means a great deal, and to be one of only two law firms to have been shortlisted makes us feel incredibly proud. This really does show how we’re leading the way in our legal sector and how much we value our colleague’s contribution and invest in them from day one, ensuring they have the support and development opportunities to build their careers with us long term.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2023 Award?

To win this award would be an incredible achievement for CFG as it would be the first time we have been recognised as a business for our investment in our people, rather than winning awards for our client service. National recognition from Investors in People would be hugely significant when it comes to our colleagues and what makes CFG a great place to work. We aim to drive change in our industry; we have a strategy of growth and geographical expansion, and we believe in having the right people, with the right skills to drive the business forward, and are committed to developing and promoting people from within. Winning would give us the continued drive and motivation to focus on our goal of achieving Platinum status in 2026!

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engaged in awards and events like this one?

Being part of the Investors in People community is very important as it’s an opportunity to share knowledge and best practice and network with like-minded organisations that put employees at the forefront of everything they do. We’re always looking at ways to make CFG an even better place to work, so it’s always good to build contacts with other businesses that, like us, prioritise culture and engagement and have a commitment to investing in learning and development for everyone. Awards and events like this one are a great way to celebrate our successes and achievements with colleagues throughout the business, and reward and recognise people for their contribution. After all, it’s our people who make our business the success it is today!
