Investors in People Awards 2023 finalist case study

PRSSV

Nominated for The Award for UK Employer of the Year: Accredited (2-49 people)

Why did you enter the Investors in People 2023 Awards?

The notification that we were on the initial short list for this award encouraged us to assess our principles and practices and reflect upon the journey we have traveled.  To continue to grow, we believe that such reflection is necessary.

By preparing a statement for this entry we have had that opportunity, helping us to evaluate what we do whilst providing us with a wider platform upon which to share our dreams,

What has it meant to you, your team and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2023 Award?

We are thrilled! We are a small, but very dedicated group. We work in a controversial area, working to achieve equality in schools and community for global music and dance education for teachers and students, challenged at every step of the way.  It is easy therefore to forget that we have had many achievements and to remember only the challenges.  To be shortlisted and our organization recognized by a prestigious international association has been not only rewarding, but also stimulating, strengthening our resolve.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2023 Award?

We believe it would elevate our work to a new level.  Our work is original, innovative and not seen as ‘mainstream’. But it is important to the community we serve, and that community, though small, is worldwide. We say that “We aim to enrich the lives of the people we touch through education, performance, and collaborations with music and dance.  To win an Investors in People 2023 Award would not only thrill our personnel, but it would confirm to the community we aspire to serve that what is so important to them is seen to be being delivered responsibly.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engaged in awards and events like this one?

As a small organisation, working in the unique area of global music and dance, we are isolated. We welcome the opportunity to be part of a wider community of like-minded organisations who care about providing the best possible service to their employees, volunteers, and clients.  Events such as this gives us a great feeling of being part of something bigger; helps us to look ‘outside the box’ and has already given us a greater confidence in what we do.
