Why did you enter the Investors in People 2023 Awards?
We achieved Investors in People Gold standard earlier this year, after achieving silver standard back in 2019. When we were long listed for the awards, we felt that this would be a great opportunity to get to know the IIP community, and to put ourselves to the test once more.
What has it meant to you, your team and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2023 Award?
Everyone was over the moon to hear the news and are very much looking forward to the awards ceremony. Looking through the other shortlisted organisations in our category and in others it feels like a huge achievement to have reached this stage.
What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2023 Award?
We found the analysis and recommendations made by IIP in their two reports to date to be insightful and highly practical. As well as that though both reports have been full of praise and positivity about our culture, values and how we operate. Like any business we face continual challenges and to get this kind of feedback along the way is incredibly motivating. It reassures us that we are going in the right direction, and winning the UK Employer of the Year Award would be taken in this spirit.
How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engaged in awards and events like this one?
This is our first awards event. We are very excited to be a part of it, to meet new people and celebrate our achievements up to this point; win or lose. Our progress since we first applied for IIP accreditation back in 2019 has been incredible. Year on year we grow stronger as a team and see our path forward more clearly. We would not be who we are today without our involvement with Investors in People and we look forward to continuing on this journey.
