Why did you enter the Investors in People 2023 Awards?

We entered because we have worked so hard over the last two years with our Investors in People support team to embed values from the IIP framework into our business. When we achieved the gold accreditation earlier this year, we thought let’s see if we can put the icing on the cake with the UK Employer of the Year award too. Being honest, to be shortlisted in the category, amongst such amazing company, is a huge achievement for us.

What has it meant to you, your team and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2023 Award?

It has meant so much to all of us. We work in property law and 2023 has turned out to be a very difficult year for our industry as the housing market has slowed down. We’ve had to work doubly hard to support our clients and our staff through these challenges and so to be shortlisted, at this particular time, is a huge boost for our business and for our amazing team.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2023 Award?

It would be the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake. The Investors in People support team have made such a huge and positive impact on our business, our employees have embraced the framework, and our business has very much benefitted from the accreditation. We were thrilled to be awarded the gold accreditation earlier this year, so to win this award would top off these achievements during what has been a challenging year for us business-wise.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engaged in awards and events like this one?

Crucial. The legal profession has a reputation for being a challenging and stressful career choice. When I set up Aconveyancing in 2017, my mission was to develop a business that went against those clichés and offered a supportive and flexible workplace with structured training and development opportunities. That’s what the IIP community has given us. Plus, it’s always brilliant to connect with smart people across different industries, which awards like these allows us to do.
