Why did you enter the Investors in People 2023 Awards? 

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved to date at NSS, and it has felt that the time was right to share our story with a wider audience. We’re passionate about the high standards of our people, process, and service ,yet we never rest on our laurels. We have an unrelenting focus on continuous improvement (it being one of our five core values) and we operate with a growth mindset. We have unfinished business on our journey therefore, but we do believe in celebrating success along the way. Our submission for the Leadership and Management award category in 2023 is a good example of endeavouring to do just that. 

What has it meant to you your team and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2023 Award? 

We’re delighted to be shortlisted alongside the other organisations in the Leadership and Management category who share our commitment to make work better.  

We’ve proudly shared the news with our people and the wider group we are part of, and the response has been superb. To be shortlisted for a leadership and management award is by its very nature, a huge team effort and it has been rewarding to recognise and celebrate this collectively. 

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2023 Award? 

We make no apologies for the cliché when we state winning an award would be the ‘icing on our cake.’  

Our leadership and management approach has been an essential ingredient of our success. It has evolved and improved over the years we have been operating into a way of working which we are collectively proud of. Winning the award would provide recognition to the many people within our business who have been involved in overcoming obstacles, shaping, and implementing our strategy into the winning formula we’ve developed today. 

In a deal backed by majority shareholders, Warburg Pincus and Macquarie Capital Principal Finance, NSS were acquired by the PTSG group in Jan-22. As part of the PTSG group of businesses, NSS leads the way with our gold accreditation and focus on using the Investors in People framework to drive stability, security, and success through our people. The PTSG group is growing rapidly with a plan to integrate best practice throughout our network of businesses. Winning the award would also enable NSS to inspire other businesses within our group to follow our lead and make work better. 

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engaged in awards and events like this one? 

Working with Investors in People provides  NSS with an unbiased and independent assessment of our people strategy, practices, and outcomes. It enables us to understand our performance against other organisations in our sector nationally and globally. The insight we obtain from being part of the Investor’s in People community drives our continuous improvement cycle.

Our people are our most valuable commodity. Central to the success of any organisation is the right blend of talent, motivation, and leadership. The key benefits of working with Investors in People for NSS are as follows:
