Why did you enter the Investors in People 2023 Awards?

Investors in People is a highly respected accreditation and we are committed to achieving as a high a standard as possible to benefit everyone that works at Concordia. We were delighted to be invited to apply to enter the awards as we feel that it validates our commitment to excellence, particularly in developing employees. We have restructured our seasonal workers operations into teams, with empowered team leaders drawn from existing employees.

We value the contribution made by the entire team and we are committed to creating a positive working environment for all our current and potential employees. The Concordia offices are undergoing refurbishment currently to improve the working environment for everyone and also as a consequence, better mental wellbeing.

Concordia is a great place to work and invests in its people, we wanted to share that with all the people we work with, internally and externally.

What has it meant to you, your team and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2023 Award?

Being shortlisted for an Investors in People Award means that the way that Concordia works together as a team has been acknowledged, in particular the work and dedication that has been put into creating a positive work place culture in 2023. A social committee has been set up this year with regular wellbeing activities organised, bringing departments together.

We also feel that having the IIP accreditation sets us apart, as being shortlisted means that we have undergone a rigorous assessment of our practices. The feedback we receive from IIP is invaluable in terms of identifying areas for improvement and setting benchmarks for future performance.

We value our workforce and invest in their development in the pursuit of excellence in everything we do.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2023 Award?

Winning an Investors in People Award is a prestigious accomplishment that will positively impact on everyone at Concordia. The award would both recognise and celebrate our dedication to creating a workplace where people can thrive. Our mission is to support people to thrive and that includes our own employees. Everything we do is built around our core values of community, partnership and ethical, the IIP only underpins these.

We want our team to feel part of a community, working in partnership with each other and only delivering ethical programmes that truly work for our participants. The work we do is nothing without the contribution of the team.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engaged in awards and events like this one?

Being a part of the Investors in People community and participating in their programme of awards and events is highly beneficial for Concordia, enhancing our reputation both internally and externally. It also offers opportunities for learning, networking and collaboration that can contribute to our long-term success.

We want to continually develop and move forward, to do this we need to develop our practices for people management and work on areas to improve and set performance standards. Being part of the IIP community will enable us to learn from others in the network and gain insights to enhance our own practices.

Concordia is fully committed to excellence in people management, being a part of the Investors in People community supports this. We are proud to have been shortlisted for a Silver Award and know that in itself will enhance our credibility and reputation with our employees, service users and key stakeholders.
