Why did you enter the Investors in People 2023 Awards?

Morvan Hotels have been committed to Investors in People since 2003 with Gold accreditation since 2015. We believe our mission statement of “friendly hotels, professionally run” together with our four core values of “Best People”, “Respect for the Individual” , “Integrity” and “Grow your Own” perfectly aligns with the ethos of IIP. We believe that our staff are the companies most important asset and they deserve to be recognised for their continuous commitment and consistently high standards of service delivered within a trusting, open and inclusive environment.

What has it meant to you, your team and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2023 Award?

As one of Jersey’s longest established hotel groups still operating as a true family business to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award is a tremendous achievement for the whole organisation. The entire team have been slightly overwhelmed but ecstatic that we have been shortlisted. In our industry where catering is at the forefront of our guest’s experience, to our team this really is like ‘the cherry on top of the cake’.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2023 Award?

To win and have international recognition for best practice within our industry would be an outstanding accomplishment. Our team would be delighted with the acknowledgment of all their efforts, it would be a very proud moment for us all. In addition, to carry the title of such a prestigious award on a small island would enhance the Investors in People profile and encourage more businesses to become involved in something, we as a company truly believe in and value immensely.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engaged in awards and events like this one?

We want to enhance the talents and abilities of everyone within the organisation and being part of the Investors in People community helps us to achieve this ambition. Engaging with like-minded businesses where people truly are the priority would help us to continue to grow, strengthen and achieve future goals. Events whereby we are able to come together and celebrate our achievements is a real boost and a reward in itself.
