Investors in People Awards 2023 finalist case study

Fivium

Nominated for The Award for UK Employer of the Year: Gold (50-249 people)

Why did you enter the Investors in People 2023 Awards?

We entered the Investors in People 2023 awards as we believe we are an employer of choice. We work hard to provide a fun and collaborative place to work, coupled with challenging and rewarding work. However, it’s important to us not to be complacent but strive for continuous improvement, so by entering the IIP Awards we were keen to seek that external validation that we’re doing a good job, and that we truly are one of the best places to work.

What has it meant to you, your team and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2023 Award?

The team are overjoyed to be shortlisted for this award. We believe that we are only ever as strong as our people and that every member of the team contributes to the overall successes we enjoy. Across the business, people are incredibly proud of working at Fivium, and therefore incredibly proud to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. We genuinely struggled to pick 10 people to join us at the Awards evening and if it were possible, we’d have purchased several tables and we’ll celebrate this as a win regardless of the result.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2023 Award?

Winning an Investors in People 2023 Award would be testament to everyone in our team who helped us be great. It would have far-reaching benefits for us, helping us to improve our reputation, employee morale, and talent acquisition. We truly believe this will help to improve our overall performance as a business. It would serve as a recognition of our commitment to investing in our people and fostering a positive work environment.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engaged in awards and events like this one?

We love being part of the Investors in People community, having opportunities to network with like-minded organisations who care about their people and getting new ideas. The format works well with our growth mindset and encourages diversity of thought. The accreditation process gives us time to pause and reflect on how we’re doing and how far we’ve come, as well as having the external accountability of goal setting for the leadership team.

The workplace is always changing and we want to stay ahead of the trends which help make work rewarding and fulfilling. We feel that we often learn and adapt from the advice and encouragement of our practitioner.

This is the first time at the awards, but we’re excited to be a part of the splendor and look forward to networking with the other nominees.
