Indigo Swan

Investors in People Awards 2023 finalist case study

Indigo Swan

Nominated for The Award for Leader of the Year, The Award for Leadership and Management

WINNER – The Award for Leader of the Year (Aimee Konieczny)

Why did you enter the Investors in People 2023 Awards?

Indigo Swan is like a big family and if anyone is struggling either with a work or personal related issue, all the swans are there to offer support and advice. Our leaders inspire the rest of the swans to grow and develop both personally and professionally.

Positive company culture doesn’t happen overnight though, it’s something we have worked on over the years and has naturally blossomed as the team has grown. It takes patience, clear vision and values which the whole team can buy into, both inside and outside of work. Swans are at the heart of everything we do which is evident in our company values. We work hard to nurture a safe, happy environment where they love being part of our company journey.

We want to celebrate all our amazing achievements which have led us to where we are today, which is why we entered the Investor in People 2023 Awards.

What has it meant to you, your team and your organisation to be shortlisted for an Investors in People 2023 Award?

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for two Investors in People 2023 Awards.

Since 2019, we have continued to grow, and despite COVID and the recent energy crisis, we have continued to receive national and regional recognition for how we act, not only as an energy consultancy but also as a business. Being shortlisted for two Investor in People awards has shown just how hard the swans work and what we are achieving as a business.

What would it mean to your organisation to win an Investors in People 2023 Award?

It’s hard to put into words what it would mean to win an Investors in People awards. The energy sector is currently under immense pressure, to be able to shine a light on our incredible team and the amazing work they do for our customers would bring a huge relief during challenging times.

Our Commercial Director, Aimee has also been shortlisted for ‘Leader of the Year’. As well as being a huge achievement for the company, it would be amazing for her to be recognised and celebrated on a national level, and something that she is truly deserving of, we can’t think of someone who epitomises Indigo Swan and what true great leadership looks like more than her.

How important is it for your organisation to be a part of the Investors in People community and engaged in awards and events like this one?

We are proud of our IIP Gold accreditation and being part of their community is invaluable to us. Our swans are at the heart of everything we do, so being engaged in awards and events like this, allows us to recognise and celebrate the work that they do on a daily basis. An important part of our vision over the next few years is to continue to train, develop and help our Swans grow, as they are our biggest asset.
